Painting our peruvian masks

Yesterday we painted our Peruvian masks. Our teacher couldn't find the silver so we could only use gold, copper and bronze. My mask was mainly bronze but I still had copper and gold on my mask. Lots of people used mainly gold but for some reason I like being unique to other people. my big dangly chocolate chip earings don't look like chocolate chip earrings.

  1. I watched a programme tonight about Tilting, which is in New Foundland. Only 200 people live there and they are all from Irish descent. The older people even had Irish accents even though none of them had ever been to Ireland. They have the Irish Flag hoisted on high. One family was called Foley.

  3. That's pretty cool Mamo. Even the scenery in Newfoundland looks Irish. Sometimes on the news we hear Newfoundlanders speak and they sound like they just got off a boat from Kerry.

I have a friend from Newfoundland and she uses expressions like "the sun was splitting the rocks".

  4. That was one of the comments made on the programme, that the people used Irish expressions like "great craic" and having " a smashing time" etc. God help us we are everywhere.

  5. Some of the villages along the coast can/could only be reached by boat and up until recently Irish was spoken. What interesting about Newfoundlanders (Newfies) is that not only how much Irishness they preserved, but also that the 21st century life style is impacted by people leaving Newfoundland for Alberta searching for work. Their reports are very similar to the reports you hear on RTE about irish immigrants.

I hope to go there sometime. It's hard to reach. It cost about the same as as flight to Ireland. From here.
