The X team

I'm In running club at school and I made it to the X team wich are the top 20 fastest kids in each grade. Running club is for Grade two's and up but for you grade one's and up. When my running teacher, Mr. sholko said the X team players I thought I wasn't going to make it but I did. Mr. sholko was Adam's teacher in grade 6. Being in the X team was hard because I had to race against grade 5's and sixers.

  1. I am really proud of you. Does that mean you have been selected for indoor track? I am running tonight, I hope I can run as fast as you.

  2. No because I'm not in grade 4, 5 or 6.

  3. That's a pity. The Journal games are really fun. It's bit like the community games except each school has a team.

  4. Even though I can't make it to indoor track I'm still happy that I got 66th place in the big race.

  5. You make me jealous. I was always a poor runner. But I am a very good walker !
However Cian is a good runner. His dad use run with a running club here in Galway. He has a lot of medals for running. He still goes for a run in the evenings quite often.

  8. Alanna: That was very good, especially considering that there were a few hundred kids participating in the race.

  10. Alanna of course we have running clubs in Ireland and even a few in Galway.
Don't mind your dad. I saw him running after your mum many times. Did you know your parents were two pookies ?

  11. PĂșca is the Irish word for a ghost. When your mum and dad were teenagers they dressed in black, black hair, black clothes and your mum even painted her nails black. It was a fashion statement in Ireland at the time. They looked more like witches than ghosts. They thought they looked lovely but between you and me they looked awful!!!

  12. Maybe not the top 20 in each grade because only 5 grade threes made it.
